2012 Teacher Ornament

I wanted to come up with a very special gift for my daughter's teacher - she has been her teacher for 3 grades. She was her teacher for Kindergarten  grade 3 & now grade four. Although she has a new name this year as she got married the same weekend as my sister!!
However this is also the last year my little girl will be in elementary - next year will be middle school :(

Here is what I came up with:

 The front
The back

I put it all together in a heat & serve Tupperware container, I ordered a cool wooden ruler that says 'Mrs. Thompson Measures Up', and a stamp from the desk of Mrs. Thompson - from Pick your plum of course :)  I included some dark chocolates for her from Purdy's... mmmmmm - Yes I am a firm believer in spoiling our teachers, after all they are responsible for caring for my children while they are at school and not with me!
I believe my daughter has been VERY blessed with the TWO, yes, only two teachers she has had in the last 5 years of school!
I couldn't have hand picked anyone better suited to teach her!

Till next time,

Christmas Cheer

I have been SO busy with getting everything ready for the holidays - I haven't had time for blogging...
Well I've been checking up on other's posts, but haven't had much time for my own.

Today I had a few moms over to help me make the teacher's gifts for my daughter's elementary school. We have almost 50 staff there, so we make 55 to be sure no one is missed. If there is a sub in, it spreads wonderful Christmas cheer!

I have the birthday candies set - can be used for more than just birthday parties :)
I used the present, star, 'thank you' and 'celebrate' - all perfect for Christmas time!

The snowman soup stamp set has been revamped into a new fresh form - it's linked at the bottom
This is from the old stamp set by Jaded Blossom

We made snowman soup :)
Hot chocolate - I made a card to put 2 packs into
Marshmallows
Candy canes - French Vanilla & Cappachino
Jaded Blossom stamps - Christmas WishesSnowman poopBirthday Candy

Jaded Blossom's Birthday Celebration

Hi there, I am so excited to be a guest designer for Jaded Blossom.
Thank you so much for stopping by - I am truly honored to be a part of wishing Jaded Blossom a very happy birthday!!

For my project today I wanted to make a cookie exchange invitation!

Ingredients:
Cookie sheet - Fancy Topper die
Sentiment - Cookie Exchange
Gigerbread cut outs - Cricut Gingerbread cart
Peachy Keen faces
Stampin up very vanilla cardstock
Recollections 6x6 paper - Sugar Plums

I also wanted a cute package to put it all together so I made an apron box. I saw an idea like this on Pinterest, but never pinned it - lol. So I free handed most of the cuts, with a little trail & error, and this is what I came up with.

Sentiment -Cookie exchange
AC cardstock for the base - I needed it to be very sturdy
Recollections paper - Sugar Plums 12x12 stack
Crinkle ribbon - 3Girl Gam
8 recipe cards purchased from Michaels
The little spatula I found at Bed, Bath & Beyond

I hope you enjoyed my project.
Please leave a comment below - I love reading them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JADED BLOSSOM!

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to be a guest designer, it was so much fun!

Trendy Twine's Birthday Celebration

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Trendy Twine's Birthday Celebration Weekend.
This weekend is not only Lesley's Birthday but her Mom's Too.
She has asked several of us to be her Guest Designers to help with the Celebration.
Now if you're here from Dawn then you're in the right direction, but if you're just passing thru you may want to start at the Trendy Twine Blog because you don't want to miss out on the Blog Candy.
Here is what I made for Lesley's Mom:
I used the top note die from Stampin' Up, but used the negative outline to get the great shape. I used Blueberry Trendy Twine to accent the outline.
Some red polka dot washi tape behind my banner and cut out a banner using Close to my Heart Artiste cartridge. The stamp is also from CTMH.
I had some flowers in my stash that I inked up to make them less pink, more rusty. I hope she likes it!

A fun little ornament

How cute is this little ornament! I love how quick & easy it was to assemble. I cut 4 ornaments from CTMH artiste cart, folded them in half & used atg to stick them together!
I found this awesome feather yarn at the dollar store & used a Jaded Blossom stamp for the sentiment!
My 9 year old helped pick the paper & the sentiment, she saw how quick & easy it was, I see her making these for all of her friends!

November is here!

November for my house is a great month! We celebrate two birthdays - mine on the 7th & my son's on the 8th. He will be a teenager this year - gulp! With all the excitement of our own birthdays - I also get to celebrate my sister's on the 1st & niece's on the 29th. I also have a post coming this month with another birthday someone special to Trendy Twine! Lots of November birthdays!!

Before popping my sister's card in the mail last week - I totally forgot to take a picture :(
I made her a card with a doily dress - it was really cute & I plan to make another one, one day, so I will post a pic once I remake the card!

My hubby came home with my bday present on the 1st - yea almost a week early - but I'll take it. He bought me the new iPhone 5!! So I thought I'd take some pics today - wow so much better than my 3GS!! These pics aren't perfect - but I promise to try to get better! (I'm thinking I should make a light box)

Here are a couple Christmas cards I've been working on...

I used some Peachy Keen winter faces for my snowmen.
Trendy Twine for the scarfs - Twisted Teal & Berries Jubilee
Martha Stewart glitter for the mitts & touque - so they would pop a little more.
Pink By Design sentiments

All of the cuts come from Winter Frolic Cricut Cart!

I had some extra paper cut - thought I should finish using it - so I went into my already assembled die cuts & found a baby Jesus & 2 leftover snowmen from my cards last year - man am I glad to have those peachy stamps, I think their faces are so much cuter!!

Hope you enjoyed these too!

Halloween for the teachers

I thought it would be nice to make a little more 'grown up' treat for my kids teachers & for my daughter's Guide leaders.... after all Halloween isn't just for kids... right!? And who doesn't love a little chocolate every now & again!

I used:
Clear Box from Jaded Blossom
Happy Halloween sentiment is from Halloween Poop  - Jaded Blossom
Twine - Trendy Twine

Super simple, but I think everyone loved them!

Thanksgiving Theme - Teacher Appreciation Cards

Every year at my kids schools - yes 2 kids - 2 schools - I join up with parent council to make some wonderful little gifts for the teachers. This year at my son's jr high school we wanted to have a thankful theme  (as we handed them out just in time for Thanksgiving)- as we are very thankful for the teachers & the hard work they put in daily for our kids! We got our list of 43 staff members & I got to work.

Here is what I created:

I wanted to keep with a fall feel - so I went for Kraft cardstock & Raffia rather than ribbon or twine.

Sorry for the blurry pic - I can't always get the best pics :(

I made a little pocket in each to hold the $40 Indigo card they all received.

I used Kraft cardstock
K & Co. Olive tree kraft paper
Pink By Design stamp - Bracketful

Hope you enjoyed a little something special!

We've been BOO-ED!!

Last week my daughter came home from school & brought in this lovely bag... I asked her where she got it? 'Off the front step' she replied. Well let's see what it is then - On the outside had a lovely tag that said We've Been BOO-ED... Well looks like we were in for a treat! I forgot to take a picture of our treats :(
Some chocolate marshmallows & little pumpkin chocolate balls.

The catch - we in turn needed to 'Boo' two other families, so I got to baking banana bread & made up some super cute little kisses with perfect stamps from Jaded Blossom :)

Now it was our turn....

The front side of the card says 'We've been BOOED' You are to hang that out where others can see - so no one else boos you - On the other side the poem reads:

You've been Booed
The phantom ghost has come to town
To leave goodies, I see you've found!
If you wish to make this a happier fall,
Continue this greeting, this phantom call.

First, post this phantom where it can be seen
And leave it there until Halloween.
This will scare other phantoms who may visit,
Be sure to participate, you don't want to miss it!

Second, make 2 treats and 2 copies today,
Deliver it to 2 neighbors, and that's how you play!
Don't let them see you, be sneaky no doubt...
And make sure they put their phantom ghost out.

Next, you've got only one day so be quick!
Leave it at doors where the phantom hasn't hit.
Deliver at dark when there isn't much light,
Ring the doorbell and run, stay out of sight.

And last but not least, come join in the season,
Don;t worry, be happy, you need no good reason.
This is all in good fun, and we're just trying to say...
Happy Halloween and have a GREAT day!

I used stamps from Jaded Blossom - Halloween Kisses & Halloween Poop
I stamped the little pumpkins & faces from My Thoughts Exactly
The bats are from a Stampin' Up punch

Yummy Trendy Twine perfectly closed the parchment paper!

We dropped them off to two of our favorite neighborhood families - I sure hope they had as much fun as we did!

Master Crafter

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to get in on a 'MasterCrafter' project that Sarah Hamer from Pink Cricut was hosting. We just paid for shipping & some amazing companies donated some fabulous goodies for us to use in our projects.

Here is what I received in my little box :

The 'Rockstar' Mat Stack from DCWV - Super cool prints! - DCWV Deals
A zebra print scissor mouse - a really awesome little gadget! - Westcott
A little cloth bag - State Line Bag Co.
A few gemstones - Queen & Co.
2 buttons
'note' sentiment stamp from Pink By Design

At first I was really stumped with the sentiment I had & after thinking about it for a day or so, I thought 'MUSIC"... So here is what I came up with....

I stamped with Staz On ink onto the bag
Made the gems into music notes
Tied up the buttons with a little kraft Trendy Twine

I made 3 little 3x3 cards with the super cute paper
And wouldn't cha know - They fit inside the little bag perfectly!!

Might be a nice little gift for my son's band teacher..

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween treats

My second post of the day... Yes it is :)

I wanted to get these uploaded so I could share some inspiration for Halloween that is coming in just over a month!

Here are my little treat bags

The little ghost is from Create A Critter 2
There was a few images available to cut free for a week on CCR, I took advantage & get the cute guys ready for my bags!

Happy Halloween was heat embossed with a stamp from the $1.50 bin at Michaels from last year

The twine is all from Trendy Twine - 3 of the new colors, all part of the 'licorice' line
Lime licorice
Grape licorice
Grey licorice

The chevron print bags I bought from Pick your Plum
I was able to fit 3 Halloween sized treats in each bag!
