Little tissue box

I received a phone call today that one of the little girls at the elementary school is in the hospital :(
As part of our school council we make gift baskets for anyone who is in the hospital for an extended period of time. I will shop for her tomorrow, but had a bit of time this afternoon to create something too.

Here is what I made to add to her basket :

My 12th Anniversary

Tomorrow is a big day at our house - it's our 12th Wedding Anniversary!!

This is a big year for me - this is how many years my parents were married when my dad left...
So I think for me this is an extra special anniversary to celebrate!!

Tonight we are going to have a BBQ at my uncle's, and not sure what tomorrow will bring. Well I know that my hubby will be working at least part of the day :( But will have Monday off!!

I made my hubby a card, of course I did... I'm thinking I might make another to leave on his pillow for him to sign for me. I hate it when he buys me cards, what a waste of money, it could buy me a whole pack of paper to make lots of cards with!!

'Your lips look so lonely'

For the background paper I stamped the lips in Cherry Cobbler from Stampin Up & then heat embossed a few lips in white to give it a cool effect!

'Would they like to meet mine?'

Happy Mother's Day!

What a beautiful day it is!!

I woke up to cards, 4 of them, all handmade :) It melts my heart when my hubby & two kids do their best to shoe their love to me!!
My hubby, with a bit of help from our daughter, made me a card, cuts & stamped!
My son drew me a card, a funny card with an awesome illustration!
My daughter made me two cards, a coupon book & a poster (which was a surprise). I helped with her grade 4 class to make mother's day cards & I helped with the cards and coupon books at our Brownies/Sparks meeting. So the poster was created all on her own, without me really knowing, other than the 'Mom, where can I find the poster boards'?!

We went out for breakfast to Cora's, my favorite place for breakfast!! I had eggs benny, of course, I never eat anything else there!! We will go out for dinner too. We will be joined by my hubby's family - his Dad, his dad's fiance, Grandma & Grandpa. This will be extra special, as I just lost my Grandma last week, so it will be great to be able to spend a special day with her.

I will give a tidbit on my hubby's Grandmother, aka - my grandma!
She is 93 years old & is one of the strongest women I have ever known! She has a huge heart & cares so much for her family. When she lost her daughter a couple years ago, I wasn't sure she would make it through.... but her she still is, getting older by the day. She is a trooper, was in the military (a staff Sargent), has 2 degrees, one of which she received after she was 50 years old. She is truly an inspiration!
I see the love that she has for her husband, children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren! I want to feel that much care & love always!!

I ordered a few Stampin Up! items a few weeks ago when there was a free shipping weekend. As a thank you my demonstrator sent me a little card kit. It was an easy assembly job for my DD, so she put it all together for her Great-Grandma!

Sorry for the terrible picture, my phone wasn't cooperating very well!!

Mothers Day Canvas

I will be seeing my Mom tomorrow. I wanted to have her Mothers Day gift ready for her, along with her card. With it being my Grandma's funeral as well I wanted something that would remind her of her mom too. I decided to make a vinyled canvas!

I really hope she likes it!

I also made her a little treat bag of lifesavers :)

Mother's Day Card 2013

I was feeling inspired today to create a beautiful Mother's Day card this morning.
Yesterday my Grandma passed away & I knew crafting today might help take my mind off the sadness that I am feeling. I wanted to make a pretty card this year for my mom & tried to bring in a couple elements that would remind her of her mom in a sweet way. My Grandma loved her pearls! So all the pearls are for you!!

I wanted to keep it simple & elegant. I think I accomplished that!

Cameo Dustcover

The day has come to pull out my sewing machine & get my dust cover made!

I found a tutorial with a pattern on Taylor Made's blog.

I was so easy to follow - took no time at all to whip this baby up!

I think I may cut out some HTV & put it on.... What should I put???

I'll update you once I have decided!
