Happy Birthday 97!!

Today is a special card making day! 

It's for my hubby's Grandpa, who is also just as much my Grandpa, even if I didn't know him the first 19 years of my life. In 5 days he will be celebrating his 97th birthday!

Now that is worth celebrating!!

For his card I wanted to have it a star theme, after all he is a superstar!

And of course I needed it to be manly & simple.

PPPR Guest Designer

Hello everyone! I am so excited to guest design for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons today!

Last weekend was my son's 15th birthday. Boy oh boy does he like his video games. Of course I wanted to make him a card to go along with that, so I found this awesome file in the PPPR store.

Here is my project :

I wanted to make this into a shape card, so I offset the base & created a mirror image to have a shaped base.

 Now I know it's not the typical colors for the controller, but I made this one special to match the new console that came out... The new Advance Warfare Xbox One!

For the controller letters I used My Creative Time stamps.

For the inside I used Jaded Blossom stamps.

Trendy Twine Challenge

I wanted to enter the Trendy Twine challenge this month. So I placed my order a few weeks ago and then waited and waited and waited some more.... Sometimes waiting for things to cross over the border takes some time, but it finally arrived last night!!! And trust me it was SO worth the wait!!

I thought making a fun tag would be perfect for this challenge and these would be so easy to mass produce!

CCE July 2013

Holy moly - I can't believe it's been like 6 weeks since I've posted... I have been so busy with so many things. My mom turns 60 this summer & I along with help from my siblings am throwing a surprise party. I have done a fair bit of crafting for it - including invitations that will hit the mail this week!! 

Enough rambling - let's get to today's card - the theme for July is any card with an animal. When I looked at all my different stamps, I didn't find any dog type sentiments, which is what I wanted to make... Instead I looked though my SVG files & found a butterfly from Miss Kate's Cuttables & knew that would be my feature... I know it's not really an animal at all, but I love how my card turned out!

I received a phone call today that one of the little girls at the elementary school is in the hospital :( 

As part of our school council we make gift baskets for anyone who is in the hospital for an extended period of time. I will shop for her tomorrow, but had a bit of time this afternoon to create something too.

Mini Composition Books

For February our monthly challenge for our CCE group was to alter mini composition books. This was a fun challenge, something that made me really think for! Here are my creations, along the same line, just all slightly different.

End of the year teacher gifts

I just realized I didn't post these...oops ;)

Here are the cards I made for my 12 yr old's jr. high teachers. He had 7 teachers this year, so I came up with gift card holder cards & gave them each a gift card to Starbucks - his choice.

 I used two stamp sets & a coffee cup die from My Creative Time. The sentiments are from Pink By Design.

What a great weekend!!

I started off my weekend by watching Sarah Hamer of 'Pink By Design' on Friday night! She had a Usteam video going for their new stamp release. They are FANTASTIC!!! I really enjoying watching stamp releases and any type of new videos to help my creative juices flowing! I have told myself I need to hold off on stamps for awhile, especially because I am a Stamp of the month member & get a new stamp set every month! This month is about shoes, can't wait for it to arrive in my mailbox :) 

I won a set of Cricut gel pens that I can't wait to try out with my new Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 cartridge!!! I'm waiting for my scoring tool as well, so once they both arrive I hope it's going to be as much fun to play with as I think it will be! 

I also have a great opportunity to take part in Ella's Publishing Spring Training this week! I won this as well on Friday!!! It must've been my lucky day, as I don't really win anything, ever & then I win two things in one day... or maybe it was to pick me up after a not so fun week.... Either way I'll take it!!

My 8 year old daughter wanted to make a card & here is what she came up with. I think it turned out super cute! She is one good crafter already!!

New Stamps!!!

I have a job now.... It's taking a serious toll on my crafting time.... I am happy to have the weekend off!!

Over the last couple of days I have received some 'HAPPY MAIL'... I love happy mail, especially when it is something to craft with!!! I also got to have lunch yesterday with one of my sisters who came into town to work for the day. I was able to take her for lunch & she brought me my stampin' up order!!! I was very excited to finally receive all my goodies.... I made a birthday card for my step mom with my new stamps & die cut from 'My Creative Time'... they are SOOOOO cute!!!! 

I can't wait to play with my carts tomorrow... Mickey Mouse... here I come.... watch out!!!!
