Final PBD challenge - Junk Drawer

My final project of the day - Junk Drawer :)
I found life savers in the bottom of my purse, they are stale, so perfect to put on a card ;)

What an awesome fun day!!!

Big thanks to all who hung out today!!

PBD Challenge #12 - Inspiration

This challenge has to be linked up within an hour of it's appearance - We've had 3 hours for most, 2 hours for the last one, an now only an hour.
With the pressure on - I did in 15 mins :) Super quick card yes, but the meaning will be appreciated.

Here is my card along with the inspiration - My daughter's stuffy - Snowy :)

My daughter got a hole in her stuffy a couple weeks ago & asked me to fix it, so it's been sitting on my craft desk for  little while. I pick her up tomorrow from here two weeks away & will have her stuffy all sewed up for her, along with a little card. I know it's not really cold outside, but my life's been a little empty the past couple of weeks & she will bring me warmth tomorrow.

I have really enjoyed playing along with everyone today! It's been so nice getting little comments on my blog & your kind words have brought me great joy!

Thanks again!
Happy Anniversary to Pink By Design - look forward to many more years!

PBD Challenge #11 - Single Layer Card

When I read the challenge I thought ' oh no, I never use only 1 piece of paper.... Yikes'
So I started by trying to use a background stamp, that didn't work out at all :(
Next up, deciding on a sentiment.... Then I thought why not make a little subway art card, so that's what I did :)

Here it is...

I used many different sets from Pink By Design.

Getting set for my final challenge of the day :)

PBD Challenge #10 - Go Wild

In the 10th challenge today - we were asked to use an animal or an animal print in a project - I did both :)

I made another Christmas card!! YIPPEE!!!

Reindeer - Cricut Create a Critter Cart
I used some snow for texture
Sentiment is PBD - Christmas Wishes

Off to see #11 :)

PBD Challenge #9 - Buttons

I wanted to create something fun this time - without paper, that almost worked until it came time to stamp. I bought some cute wood tags from Pick your Plum - They are super cute & I want to make lots of Christmas tags this year, but the ink I have bleeds into the wood & looks terrible. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know - I'd really appreciate it!

So here is my project...

I used Stampin Up! buttons & made a little Christmas tree.

This is the back side - I covered it in paper & inked & stamped in Wasabi - my favorite Stampin Up! green!
The twine is a combo of Twisted Lime -  & Red is from Pick Your Plum
The stamps are from PBD, of course & are Christmas Wishes!

Let's see what #10 will bring!

PBD Challenge # 8 - Ribbon or Bows

Ribbon or bows - I chose Ribbon, Sparkly ribbon :)
3 different colors of sparkly ribbon :)

Here's my little card :)
Again I looked through my pre-made die cuts & found this flying heart. I put white stitching around it to give more dimension.

Inside I stamped PBD - Go Green

Off to see the next challenge :)

PBD - Challenge #7 - Tags

The next challenge is to make & use a tag. I pulled out my tags, bags, boxes & more 2 cart & cut a box &three different sized tags. I'm not great at guessing what sizes I need for things. Here is the project I came up with.

I pulled out my stash of pre-made die cuts & found these little apples.
They would be perfect for this little gable box!
I used some glossy accents on the leaves & some sparkle spritz from Stampin Up! - not sure of the technical  name.
This little sentiment is from Our Teachers - PBD
Berry Red - Trendy Twine

I'll send this for my little girls first day of fourth grade in a few weeks - for her teacher who has taught her Kindergarten, grade 3, and will be her teacher for grade 4 too :)
PS - It won't have an apple, it'll be filled with chocolates!!

PBD Challenge #6 - Sketch

I must admit - I see sketches online everywhere, all the time, but I have never used one for inspiration, well until today :)

Here is the sketch that we were to use to create a project with. As soon as I saw it, I knew these stamps would be perfect!! With a little searching though some paper, I found the perfect papers to use!

The sentiment says "Give a girls the right shoes and she can conquer the world" - Marilyn Monroe

Here is my card made with Shoe Addict - May 2012 SOTM from Pink By Design!

Off to see what the next challenge is :)

PBD Challenge #5 - Ombre

This challenge made me put my thinking cap on - I mad a card & then made another, cause I didn't like the first one.

Here is my take on an ombre card - light to dark or dark to light

This is a 5" x 5" square card.

I used my stars cuttlebug folder to emboss the blue papers
Blueberry Trendy Twine
Sentiment - PBD - Small Things - Jan 2012 SOTM

PBD - Challenge #4 - Silhouette Shape

Welcome Back :)

Challenge #4 - made me think a little, I had to go though a couple cricut booklets before I found a shape to use - the easy part - finding a sentiment to go with it!!

Here is my next project, a little card.

I thought a silhouette would mean boring, but I added some fun paper & a few jems ;) And looky, looky, I really like it :)

The sentiment is of course PBD - Rain or Shine - Feb SOTM

Time to get started on challenge #5 - maybe I should eat first :)

J

PBD - Challenge #3 - Embossing

So we were challenged to use embossing in this project. Here is my next card...

I decided to use my Stampin Up! owl punch to create these cute penguins :)
I used my snowflakes cuttlebug folder to emboss the background.
I ripped some white paper to look like snow & then heat embossed it with white & silver embossing powder.
The sentiment is from PBD - Winter fun - I thought it fit perfectly!

PBD - Challenge #2 - Favorite holiday

Favorite holiday - anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Christmas! Time to get a jump start on my holiday cards - I think so :) I definitely won't complain about that :)

I used my Goodie Label die - PBD
Goodie Labels stamps - PBD
Gingerbread Cricut cart
Candy cane twine by Trendy Twine

See you soon :) J

Pink By Design Anniversary Challenge #1

Today Pink by Design is celebrating their 2nd anniversary! I am playing along in the challenges & once I've completed all the projects in the time frame allotted, I will receive a free stamp set!!! How cool is that!!!
So here is my first project, home decor :)

I started with a blank 12"x12" canvas - I've never stamped on canvas & thought it'd be fun to try.
Not quite as easy as I had thought it would be, but with a little patience, I think it turned out okay.

I know for next time to be sure my stamp is really in place before try to move the canvas to rub the other side!

I used July SOTM (stamp of the month) - Capture life to make a project for my 8yr old daughter. This summer lots of exciting things are taking place - she will be a flower girl for one last time in my sister's wedding party :) She has been away for two weeks & I'm sure she has captured some great moments -

I had some button push pins that I thought just added to the project!

One thing I did learn after stapling the ribbon on, was that I should've let the ink dry a little more - oops:)

I hope she loves it & will use it to showcase some of her photos!

See you again, VERY SOON! J

Jenn's Stagette

This past weekend I was able to travel up to my sister's house & hang out with some super fun girls. We went for dinner at Earls', 10 pin Bowling at Ed's, and then finished of the night meeting up with the boys at her in-laws for a fire. It was a great night!

I had been bugging her that I was going to make her something... 'ALL ABOUT ME', so when I came across this tumbler, I knew I had to buy it & exactly what it was going to say!

I know my pictures are never great, I need to get better at that, but I am hoping you get the idea :)
ME! & the heart on the back glow in the dark!!!

I bought some iron on vinyl (the glow in the dark vinyl was from here too) from Pick Your Plum - a great daily deal site for all things crafty!

It's pink & I placed a little gem above the i. You can't really tell how cute it is. I never got a picture of her wearing the shirt, I took picks with her camera all night.... yep, I'm a good sister :)

I couldn't leave the guests out now could I???
NO - I made them little treat bags to take home!
These little stamps are from Jaded Blossom - They are 3/4" circle & fit perfectly on the bottom of Hershey Kisses - I can't wait to find other ways to use these super cute stamps!

Till next time, J

End of the year teacher gifts

I just realized I didn't post these...oops ;)

Here are the cards I made for my 12 yr old's jr. high teachers. He had 7 teachers this year, so I came up with gift card holder cards & gave them each a gift card to Starbucks - his choice.

I used two stamp sets & a coffee cup die from My Creative Time. The sentiments are from Pink By Design.

Till next time, J

Busy Times

Boy oh boy, has it been a very busy few weeks in my house. The beginning of summer has arrived & with it the Calgary Stampede!! We headed down to the grounds last Sunday. It was an extremely hot day! We had a great time, my Dad & step-mom came down to attend it with us. It was the 100th anniversary this year. In my opinion, not much different than most other years, but I don't attend annually either. It breaks my pocket book & I find it to be much more enjoyable to only attend every few years!

We went to the fireworks last night, they were incredible! There were even some red 100 fireworks in the mix! Awesome presentation!

My youngest is spending the week between her auntie's houses & I miss her like crazy already!! I'm sure she's having a blast. She is attending her Auntie's other bridal shower this afternoon. I'm sure it will be a great time!

My oldest is getting ready for a week of video game camp, where he will learn to create his own online game. He's so excited! I should make mention that at the end of his school year, he received 6, yes 6 awards. 3 Of which he got to walk across the stage in front of the whole school to receive! Yep, I am one proud Momma!!

My sister's stagette is coming up on Saturday. I had a few things to get ready, well made for her. I got that all done this morning. Of course I can't post any pics yet, she can't see anything before she gets to wear them ;)
Just thought I should check in & let you know I haven't forgotten about my blog, just had lots of other stuff on the go. Once the wedding is over & school is in again, I know life will still be busy, just a more comfortable busy I hope :)

Till next time, J
